My wife's 2019 Kodiak 450 EPS SE did not come with a winch so I decided to install a Warn VRX 25-S on her quad. She has also been really looking forward to being able to plow snow with it so I picked up a Warn 50" plow blade along with the front plow mount and install everything at the same time. It was a bit of a pain but I was able to work it out. I did not find any good videos on the install...

      Yes, it automatically moves them onto the burn plate. Each puck burns for about 20 mins so you set the smoke time based upon how many pucks you load up with that 20min/puck burn rate.

    Thank you for the tour and your initial impressions. My husband and I are looking at purchasing a Sol Dusk. I was hoping for 2 stairs, but the folding tuck under the trailer stairs. We boon-dock and move almost every day when we travel. Those steps look like they bring the rain/snow/dirt in the camper. I saw some photos of Dusks with the fold up stairs. Did you buy those as an option, or is that how your Dusk came?

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 8 дней назад

      The steps are part of the new additions in 2024. While I think they could bring in dirt, we put the carpet on there and it doesn't seem to be much of a problem. I would think without the carpet, it would be even less of a problem. We do keep a broom with us to brush off the steps if they start collecting dirt. We use the roll out canopy and an entry indoor/outdoor carpet and that does a really good job keeping dirt and rain down significantly. I'm not sure I would camp in the winter with the trailer as the insulation is not much. It is a 3 season camper so I suspect winter would be cold or use a lot of propane for the furnace. I boondock a lot as well, the factory battery is Lead Acid and only 75ah...it didn't last long. I upgraded it myself to a LiFePo4 battery and will be posting that to my YT channel soon. It made a WORLD of difference when boondocking. I can run for days with the new battery setup.

    • @Dana-.-
      @Dana-.- 8 дней назад

      @RoughRidersTV Thanks for your response! We usually camp in spring and fall. Occasionally, we get into snow, but not for long. Thanks for the tip on insulation! I will definitely be watching on your battery upgrade. 👍

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 7 дней назад

      @@Dana-.- So we've only camped 3 times so far so we are still learning the ins/outs of it. With that said, it has rained on us on all 3 trips and we did not have any problem with water getting inside the trailer. The combination of the canopy and the indoor/outdoor carpet kept the trailer clean and dry. I don't know about how it would work with snow given that I probably would not want the canopy out in any snowfall or at least not in any significant snow fall as I would be concerned about the weight of the snow on the canopy. For rain, I just shorten one of the legs so the rain will flow off the canopy in that direction. But I think even with the previous type steps, you would have the same problem of tracking snow, dirt into the trailer as you go in/out. The only time you fold those steps up is when you are leaving so a good sweeping should take care of that without issue.

    Is the up and down for both drivers and passenger?

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 8 дней назад

      It's basically, lefty loosey, righty tighty on the star nut. You will feel it as it tightens and the wheel will get harder to turn.

    • @HagerVids
      @HagerVids 2 дня назад

      @@RoughRidersTV so i replaced both sides with new pads and hardware. Turned star nut on both sides until they would not turn freely and only a slight lag when e brake is engaged. Should I force turning star nut with a hammer? Maybe I can tighten cable connected to floor e brake?

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 2 дня назад

      @@HagerVids Basically, you are turning the nut until you cannot turn the rotor at all. Then you back the nut off by 7 clicks or so. The rotor should not freely spin (no drag) yet when you set the brake, it should engage quickly. If you have turned the nut and it won't turn any further, then you might need new brake shoes in the drum hat. The brake shoes are not the brake pads that squeeze the disc rotor. Replacing pads won't do anything on the parking brake as they are not part of that brake system. The parking brake is an independent braking system. When you adjust the star nut, you are moving those brake shoes closer/further from the brake surface inside the rotor hat. Just like brake pads, parking brake shoes need to be replaced every so often. So if you can't dial in the parking brake adjustment, pull off the rotor and inspect the shoes to see if they are worn and need to be replaced.

    You can use the table for more counter space. The TV on shore is a poor design. Overall it’s a decent trailer. Airstream is a disappointment.

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 8 дней назад

      Agreed. We also roll out the metal sink cover as more counter space and it helps. We've now had it out 3 times and learning more and more about how to use the space. We are also learning limitations of the trailer that we need to account for while camping. I've completed the battery upgrade and the solar controller and it was a huge addition to the trailer capability. I never have to worry about how much power I use over night now.

    My 2006 S2000 has no power steering. EPS DTC is 32-01 (Problem with main current sensor offset). Service manual recommended checking the electrical connections. I checked and cleaned the three EPS module connectors, and the connectors to the steering rack and torque sensor. No visible corrosion. Next, I tried replacing the EPS module. Since Honda no longer stocks this part, I got one off eBay. I installed the used module and reset the EPS. I still get the same DTC 32-01 code. I measured a motor resistance of 0.3-0.4 ohms. That seems about right. After I start the car, the EPS light does not come on until I turn the steering wheel. I’m wondering if it’s the torque sensor. I checked the resistance on the three sensor pins for a short or open circuit. Got ~14 ohms measured between the two outside pins and the center pin. Measured ~28 ohms between the left and right pins. Any thoughts?

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 8 дней назад

      I would bet its the sensor. I tried replacing the EPS module as well with no luck. It started out having a problem when temps dropped but it progressively got worse and I suspect, with time, would have failed completely. The Torque Sensor is fairly common problem with the car so my guess it that is where your problem resides.

      It wasn't too bad as gravity was on our side. It was myself and my son in law. I tacked in a couple of 2x6 boards about 10 feet long. Once I was able to get the Arc trainer on the boards, I only needed to control the speed of the decent to the landing. From there, it was 2 steps to the basement floor where I could wheel it in place. I did have to disassemble a bunch of it to help lighten it up and to give us more room to make the tight turns do the stairs.

    The service manual says to align the "alphabet stamping" on the pinion shaft with the rack guide screw (which looks like it points straight up) when the rack is in the straight ahead driving position. Well, there may be a couple of scratches that could be letters on the old sensor, but they would have been on the bottom, not the top, if my painted on alignment marks are correct. The new sensor has no such lettering at all. Did you bother with this instruction?

    • @RoughRidersTV
      @RoughRidersTV 23 дня назад

      I tried it that way first but it would not align right. The shat rotates 360 degrees so injustice aligned the teeth so the wheels and steering wheel were straight and that worked best for me. No problems so far.

    Hey, not being critical.but that is not the correct sequence for properly tightening your front axle. The front axle nut should always be torqued first after tightening the pinch bolts, then loosen the right side pinch bolt, pump the front forks a couple of times to allow the front fork to find a neutral position of the axle and then tighten the right pinch bolts, axle torque is 59 ft lbs, and the pinch bolts are 17 ft lbs

      Thanks for watching. Surprisingly enough it is still holding up well. None of the welds have broken loose yet. I have since bought my wife a quad so we use these to load her quad as well. The only thing that has happened and it's not a fault of the ramps is that some of the webbing dented a little bit. However, that is because I used them to load a 300lb double oven on a refer dolly. The dolly has narrow, hard wheels that didn't line up with the center beam when I loaded it so one wheel was off center and the weight of the oven on such a small area caused the webbing to dent some. But even then the welds held so I can't really complain given the price point.

The more open cook space makes larger cuts of meat easier to smoke and the phone app is great at seeing temps without having to go outside. But at 2x the cost, I would expect more features and capabilities and that's why it's not really a fair comparison between the 2. If you cold smoke (cheese, fish, etc.), the Bradley wins hands down. @@RoughRidersTV No worries, it's a very informative video. I sent it to a friend asking about pellets vs bradley. I've owned two bradleys I've been very happy with. When doing larger pieces of brisket I'm usually ending up around 12+ hours in the bradley. One of my biggest complaints with the bradley is the low thermal mass. If I add pit beans mid smoke, it takes too long (imo) to bring temps back up.

    Nice work! Why you need to add brake fluid in the jar before bleeding ?

      Thanks. I put fluid in the jar so the open line does not suck any air back into the lines.
